Custom Design
Steel Structure
Our team offers a design & build option. Once we understand the parameters & needs for the building we are able to optimise a design to produce a cost-effective building by competent Engineers. All our structures are designed in strict accordance with SANS10601.
Detailing:
We have an inhouse detailing department which uses Tekla a for runner in 3D detailing. This produces general arrangement drawings, detailed shop drawings and lists, and marked up rigging drawings.
Our overflow work is outsourced to competent sub-contractors using the same formats. This forms the base of our QC and minimises error in fabrication.
Pre-Engineered
Steel Structure
Paragon Steel has a range of pre-engineered buildings that reduce production time and are therefore very fast to construct.
The designs are based on popular steel shed widths:
9m, 12m, 15m, 18m, 21m, 24m, 30m, 36m.
These sheds increase in length in 5m or 6m bays.
Should we not have stock we are able to produce them quickly, shortening lead times and giving quick roofed solutions.
The structures are compatible with various options including side cladding, natural lighting solutions, ventilators, monitors, lowered vents, whirly birds, roller shutter doors, and overhead cranes.
How it Works
The design
and Detailing
The Client will generally approach us after consulting with an architect who would have drawn plans and seen to their approval by the local municipality's planning department. We will then use the plans drawn by the architect to design the structure. Our design is then checked and signed off by a qualified structural engineer.
Site
Preparation
This is often handled by the main site contractor on larger builds however we are able to arrange this on the client's behalf if there is no other contractor involved, such as when the steel structure is the only element in the project.
Fabrication and
Manufacturing
The approved detail drawings are then handed to our fabrication team who cut and weld all the elements in the design.
Rigging and
Installation
The final stage is the rigging of the structure. This process is relatively quick but does involve the management of other service providers and contractors and can be quite complex on the larger builds.
